Kimberly, ERYT200 is the owner of Yoga Hive, an Associate Baptiste Teacher and a Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance. Her practice began in 1999 in a yoga class at the University of Pittsburgh and has been growing ever since. While living in Cambridge, MA, Kimberly found the Baptiste Power Yoga Institute and was hooked on the invigorating flow and powerful teaching style. She completed 200+ hours of training with Baron Baptiste and is also inspired by Doug Keller and Tiffany Cruikshank. With the firm belief that yoga is transformational both mentally and physically, Kimberly opened the Yoga Hive with the intention of creating a community-minded space where anyone can drop-in and feel welcomed. I teach classes Monday at 615 & 9 am, Tuesday at 6 & 730 pm & Saturday at 930 am. Private clients for therapeutic yoga and thai yoga bodywork are scheduled via email at info@yogahivepgh.com.
Stefani received her yoga instructor training through Amazing Yoga. She teaches vinyasa flow based on Baron Baptiste’s teachings. Stefani is passionate about yoga and all of the mental and physical benefits she has gained from the practice. During the day, Stefani is a hair stylist at Sean’s Signature Salon and Spa in Sewickley and at night she gets to snuggle with her two adorable cats. Stefani conveys strength, flexibility and presence in her teaching. I teach Sunday at 930 am, Monday at 6 & 730 pm and Wednesday at 615 am
Cherilyn began practicing yoga in 1999 when she strolled into the Dharma Yoga Center across the street from her New York City apartment. Years later, she completed her certification with Sri Dharma Mittra and now enjoys teaching several levels of The Dharma series as well as her own vinyasa flow classes. Cherilyn recently moved from NYC to Pittsburgh and is thrilled to be a part of the Yoga Hive community. She feels very fortunate to be able to teach and share her passion for yoga with others. I teach Tuesday and Thursday at 9 am
Noelle took her first yoga class as cross training during her career as a Division I lacrosse player. However, she was not fully immersed in the powers of yoga until the year after graduating from college in 2009. During this year, Noelle was immediately attracted to the graceful flow that complemented the intense physical and mental challenges of power vinyasa yoga. The practice allowed her to cultivate a personal place of serenity, empowerment, love and-not to mention- was an awesome community workout, which she was very much missing since having retired as a college lacrosse player. Through teaching, Noelle hopes to encourage others to transform their own lives in their own ways through this lighthearted, freeing practice. Noelle completed her teacher training through Amazing Yoga in 2012 and hopes to continue to enhance her yoga experience through attending workshops, advanced teacher trainings and continuously practicing. Alongside her love for yoga, Noelle is applying to medical school, coaching middle school and high school lacrosse and enjoys reading and traveling, especially to the beach! I teach Thursday at 615 am and Wednesday at 730 pm!
Dezza has been practicing yoga since 2002. What started as an avenue for a low-impact “workout,” yoga has since become a transformational practice for her. She can attest to the benefits of yoga — physical, mental, even spiritual. Her love for yoga has even encouraged her family and friends to embark on their own practice! Drawing inspiration from Natasha Rizopoulos, she offers a mindful approach to a vinyasa flow yoga practice. When away from her mat, Dezza enjoys tinkering in the kitchen and trying out various recipes. She also looks forward to times spent with her family — watching movies, at play, and even reading with them. I teach Sunday at 5:30 pm!
Hillary: I stepped into my first Baptiste Yoga class in 2004, dripping in sweat I had never felt so powerful, inspired, and connected to a greater source. Since then my practice has grounded me in a journey of self-discovery. Yoga teaches us everyday that it is merely a process of getting out of our own way to know what is possible. I believe yoga is a practice to find stillness within ourselves, giving loving attention to the breath and our body, searching for that connection with breath and a commitment to growth we expand our mind. There is an African proverb that reads, “When you pray, Move your feet”. We sweat and move on our mat, to get out of our thinking and get into the doing – to connect with the source within us. We use heat and flow to rock us into a new reality and be in the now. I step off my mat inspired by possibility, everyday. As a teacher I am committed to serve and share, to ignite and inspire you to expand your potential. My Teachers: Baron Baptiste, Annie Quagliaroli, Brandon Campagnone, Coeli Marsh. I teach Wednesday’s at 9am
Krystle began dabbling into the world of yoga about 8 years ago during her freshman year of college. She was first interested in the philosophies and spiritual aspects of the practice but came to be amazed by the physical benefits it provided as well. Having a background in dance, she found meditation in the movement of a vinyasa flow practice. In August of 2012, Krystle completed a teacher training immersion in the Catskill Mountains with Baron Baptiste through the Baptiste Power Yoga Institute. She holds a Bachelors degree in psychology and when she is not in a yoga studio she can usually be found working at a mental health educational facility for children. She also enjoys traveling, drinking coffee, and being outdoors. Krystle loves helping others and hopes to share her love of yoga with her students. I teach 6pm on Wednesday’s and a $5 community class at 11 am on Saturdays.
Alexandra found yoga while searching for balance, grounding, and a workout that did not include a running watch. Since then she has been a dedicated practitioner and teacher, inspired by what yoga has brought to her life on and off the mat. Alexandra completed her 200HR training in 2010 and has continued to advance her studies in Prana Flow Yoga with Shiva Rea. She has also trained with Maria Garre, David Kyle, Simon Park, Seane Corn, and more. Her infectious energy will always drive her students to try something new in her classes, while encouraging the flow of that positive energy into our community. Alexandra’s goal is to create a welcoming environment that encourages students to be their best self, whatever that means to them. She hopes to challenge her students and fellow practitioners with every practice, and open their eyes to yoga beyond just the physical asana practice. I teach Thursday at 6 and 730 pm.
Chase teaches Friday at 4:15 and 6pm on Friday.
